All of our passionate and dedicated teachers meet the highest international standards with formal qualifications and extensive experience in teaching academic English and preparing students for exams such as IELTS.

Our minimum requirements for teachers are:

  • education to degree level or equivalent qualification
  • a certificate level qualification in teaching English as a foreign language such as Cambridge University CELTA or Trinity College London CertTESOL
  • at least two years’ teaching experience
  • high proficiency in the use of the English language.

Meet some of our teachers

Fiona Dennis

“Teaching IELTS is rewarding as the students are keen to develop their job prospects and career paths. By developing strategies and techniques which can be applied to the exam I can help the students achieve their goals.”

Originally from Dorset in England, Fiona started teaching in the UK in 1988 and moved to Oman in 2007. She has been teaching English and IELTS preparation courses to Omanis for the last eight years.

 

Jessica Williams

"I enjoy the independence of being in the classroom and the human dynamics of teaching. It is one of the best ways of creating space for cultural exchange as well as providing practical skills in a creative setting."

Jessica started teaching in 1995 and has a CELTA, DELTA as well as an M.A. in Applied Linguistics. Jessica joined the British Council in 2012 and has worked in Ethiopia and Jordan. Although British, Jess was born in Kenya and has lived in many different countries.

 

Rachel McGloin

"Teaching is a very rewarding career and every day is different. I enjoy seeing how students grow in confidence in the English language and knowing that I contributed to their progression."

Rachel started teaching in 2007 and has a BA Hons in German and Business Studies and a CELTA. Rachel is originally from Middlesbrough, UK. Before coming to Oman Rachel worked in Spain, Kuwait and South Korea.
