The British Council Teacher Development Course is a 48-hour training course for teachers of English to help develop their practical teaching and classroom management skills. It also serves to update those who have not attended a training course for some years.
The course is highly practical and has been designed to complement the theoretical knowledge that teachers gain as undergraduates at university. It also equips those newly entering the field of ELT from other non-related areas with the skills and awareness necessary for effective classroom teaching.
The course includes:
- input sessions on methodology and practical ideas for the classroom
- action planning
- observations of British Council teachers
- homework tasks.
